Welcome to the annual meeting of the Latin American and the Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) and the Latin American Meeting of the Econometric Society (LAMES), taking place at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, from November 16 to 18, 2023.
This year's conference holds a special significance as we celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Banco de la República de Colombia. The conference program co-chairs are Marla Ripoll for LACEA, Andrés Carvajal for LAMES, and Ángela Fonseca Galvis as Conference chair.
Confirmed keynote speakers are Francisco Ferreira (LSE), John List (Chicago), Rosa Matzkin (UCLA), José Antonio Ocampo (Columbia), Ariel Pakes (Harvard), Hélène Rey (London Business School), Marzena Rostek (UW-Madison), and José Scheinkman (Columbia).
In addition to the main conference, we invite you to attend the Hotelling Lectures, titled "Games and Mechanisms with Evidence," which will be delivered by Bart Lipman (BU) on November 15, 2023.

WELAC — Women in Economics In LAC —
will be holding a mentoring session during the conference on November 16th at 10:30. This will be followed by a brainstorming session to discuss what should be the next steps at the national and regional level to advance women’s standing in the profession. We hope to see you there!
